These clay pots are best used on gas cook tops, however, electric cook tops can be used but a heat diffuser is recommended. They can also be used in ovens. A medium - low heat is recommended and extreme changes in temperatures should be avoided.
Clay pots are crudely fashioned and imperfections in glazing and workmanship are part of the nature of this product. It does not affect performance in any way.
